If you are ever in London and want to have a fantastic day trip, that’s close – head down south the Brighton. You can take the train from Victoria Station directly to Brighton. It only take around an hour and you are there.
Once you arrive in Brighton (the end of the line), it is a short stroll to the beach and the world famous Brighton Pier.

On the day we travelled to Brighton it was cold and windy, a little overcast, but still wonderful. Just a remember that you are standing on the southern coast of England, facing the English Channel so it will get breezy!

Brighton beach is completely different to the beach we are accustomed to here in Australia – no soft silky sand between your toes.
The beach is made of pebbles…..

Millions of pebbles……. small, medium and large pebbles.

Some even like to take a dip in the ocean – icicles and all!

When you are finished strolling along the beach and exploring the local shops….and get a little peckish, why not head to the Palm Court for some good ole fish and chips. It is located right on Brighton Pier. We had lunch there and it was very yummy indeed.

When you mention Brighton, most think only of the beach and the Pier. But there is more to Brighton than that. And while we only stayed there for the day, we did have the chance to wander through the streets.

We wandered around the Royal Pavillion, then made our way to the North Laine area to explore Kensington Gardens.
Below are some of the highlights!

Brighton is a fantastic day trip from London.
It is quick and cheap to get to, and has a little something for everyone. You won’t be disappointed!
