The city of Dusseldorf is where my father and his family came from, and still live. We could not visit Germany without visiting the place that has such meaning for our family.

Just a short stroll from Konigsallee, is the Alt Stadt. This is where I felt “this is what Germany feels like”.
Cobblestone streets, old buildings, markets, shops and of course lots of places to eat.

There is one place in particular that stood out, Die Brauerei Im Füchschen. We loved this place! We had our first and last meals here. It is highly recommended!

We were also lucky to be able to meet our relatives, whom we have not seen for over 40 years!

Some other things we love in Dusseldorf – Bratwurst, Aldi, Strudel, Laundromats, quirky architecture and walking along the Rhine.
