Paris – pretty as a picture

There is so much written about Paris. The the city of lights, and the city of love. We spent a few days there in 2015 and explored most places by foot. We ocassionally took public transport, like the bus or the hop on / hop off cat on the river, or we took a cab, but mostly we walked everywhere.

It is pretty surreal to be standing under the Eiffel Tower. It is huge and beautiful. It is even better, looking out over Paris from the very top! Take our tip and make sure to go to the very top and take advantage of the 360 degree view of Paris. It is truly breathtaking.

On one of our days, we took the train to Giverny, grabbed a bike and cycled along the Seine, visiting some local shops to pick up some local produce so that we could have a picnic by the riverbank.

Afterwards, we cycled to Monet’s Garden for a wonderful afternoon spent exploring the extensive gardens and seeing his home.

Paris at night takes on another feel. There are so many lights and when you are by the river, the reflections make everything glow.

As always we try to get some sunset shots of all the places we visit, when time permits. On our last night in Paris, we dropped by the Louvre after sunset to grab a few night shots for something special. A brilliant way to end our visit to the city of lights!
