When you go to Melbourne, it is only a hop, skip and jump by tram to the lovely suburbs of both Brighton and St Kilda. Both suburbs are located on the beachside, south of Melbourne and well worth visiting.

We travelled to Melbourne at the end of 2016 to celebrate New Year somewhere different. It was hot, muggy and buzzing with activity and energy! We wanted to see as many places as possible with St Kilda and Brighton being high on our list.
When we went to St Kilda, the first thing we wanted to do was to walk along the Esplanade and out along the gorgeous St Kilda Pier.

Dating back to 1853 the St Kilda Pier is a beautiful landmark of Melbourne. Sitting at the very end of the pier is the Victorian Heritage Registered St Kilda Pavilion which was built in 1904 – just beautiful!

Located about 5kms south of St Kilda, is the suburb of Brighton and the gorgeous and historic bathhouses of Brighton – so of course, we had to go and visit them.

Built over a century ago, there are so many different bathing houses and they all look different.
We wandered along for the rest of the afternoon, had an ice cream (of course!) and took lots of pictures before heading back to the centre of Melbourne.
