The Tulip Staircase in the Queen's House

One thing I look for when travelling, is to capture the best photos I possibly can. Many of my searches are for sunrises and sunsets. But I also look for unique places, quirky places, beautiful places and interesting images to capture.

I research for images of things and places that I would be proud to have taken. like the Tulip Staircase in the Queen’s House at Greenwich.

I find beauty in design.

The Tulip Staircase above is a work of art. It is functional yet beautiful.

It is believed to be the first self-supporting staircase in Britain.

The best view of the staircase in my opinion, is when you stand directly in the middle of the staircase on the ground floor and look up to the ceiling.

Make sure you have a good camera with a wide angle to get the entire staircase in your frame.

When you look closely, you will see that the flowers on the blue wrought iron rails are not actually tulips, but more like a lily!

Do yourself a favour, and make this a place to visit. Entry is free and there is so much more history to see other than the tulip staircase, but make sure you go and find it!
